According to the desc. on this website hundred blades is an elite skill that "swings twice" at your foe and adjacent foes, so does that mean all it does is make your next 2 swings ae?

ya, well you hit the enemy you select twice, at the same time, and you also attack any foe that is near it at the exact same time, so its like you take a wide swing and hit more than one thing, and the on you target you hit twice

Actually, from the few times I used it mostly to see this, you will slash at everyone around you twice, though the range is rather short.

So is it worth using as an elite skill? i need one that will do good dmg to single target mainly the ae wouls just be icing...

i use this skill alot, its a greaty skill when outnumbere in pve, i swung at one critter with like 6 others around me and hit them all for 35 and 25, may not seem liek alot but but it still get the job done. would be a much better skill if it recharged a tad bit faster

nah, it doesn't have a wide radius.

Cyclone Axe is not elite, does nice extra damage and hits everything around you... Hundred blades hits everything in front of you, but twice.

if you want a decent damage finisher, final thrust is always good, and if you have energy spare Pure Strike is good at any time. As an elite, hundred blades got a bit nerfed, so consider your options before you take it.

Well, it really doesent hurt. Its only 1 skill point, and it'll greatly assist you from 1-10.

PLUS none of you mentioned it's pretty much a gaurantee to get full adrenaline from 1 attack.

Eh, I prefer to use Battle Rage to keep up adrenaline, As it also increases speed and attack rate.

Well, asthetically, it looks really cool compared to most of the moves. The effectiveness is more like personally opinion when comparing to pure strike :P since all those crazy stance fads came out.

it is like a very weak cyclone axe. with cyclone axe you hit everyone adjacent to YOU

with hundred blades you hit everyone adjacent to your enemy you originaly hit so if they are grouped up it will hit em all, but otherwise cyclone axe is way better.

except that cyclone axe requires an axe, doesn't hit your targets twice.. does... why bother?

It's different. Not better, not "way better" merely different.

Ok I lied. Hundred Blades isn't just different to Cyclone axe.. it's also way way better.

It's like saying Eviscerate is better than Dismember because it's like Dismember and Executioner's Strike in one... nah homie, it's elite. In the grand majority of the cases, Dismember will be the better option.

It completly depends on how you rate a skill. Do you base your rating on the majority of cases? Or do you base it on the combo you can work a skill into that not only doubles, but tripples or quadrouples your output? Lets say I was a War/Curses Necromancer who uses Mark of Pain. In that scenario I would say that Hundred Blades is the better choice.

There is a reason that HB got the nerf bat last BWE, it doubles per hit damage, akin to double shot, plus hits those around. HB got elite status because of its many uses, and damage got increased. So, I would say that each skill has it's uses.

then the ideal skill list would consist of mostly elite skills. Two elite skills can not be in the same build; if you use Hundred Blades or Eviscerate, you're in most cases leaving out what is probably a much better elite skill. The only reason I would take either of them would be if I have a build without an elite skill. That rarely happens. Cyclone axe is not so much worse than hundred blades, to warrant a difference between elite and not. In fact, they are quite comparable in use. cyclone Axe has a wider radius, +4-10 damage and a half-time recharge. For PvE, Cyclone Axe is loads better. For PvP, imo, 100 blades is better, because there aren't so many crowded situations. I don't deem either worthy of taking in pvp, however. Even before it was elite, I didn't really take it. They are, like Crude Swing, more PvE oriented skills. Much rather take Savage Slash in PvP.
